Two Rivers Family Photography
Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed posts about Taylor showing up on my Facebook newsfeed. My friend Sue has been very active in helping this family and her daughter is very good friends with Taylor. Taylor was recently diagnosed with Adrenal Gland Cancer that has spread to her lungs and liver. She is currently undergoing Chemo treatments at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.
After reading her go fund me page ( link here) , I wanted to give this family a session before Taylor loses her hair. I have three children myself, two being very close to Taylor's age and my mother is a Cancer survivor. So her story pulled at my heart strings, I immediately contacted Sue to see if the Budysz family would be interested in family photos. Within 10 minutes Krysta called me, we talked briefly and set a time to do their family photos for last Saturday. Next I wanted to find someone that would have time on very short notice to do Taylor, Krysta and Madison's hair.. (sorry dad ;) ) ... Kassie who works at A Cut Above Salon in Two Rivers and her mother quickly offered their time and talent. Then D'Ann, the wife of one of my husband's students messaged me to offer her time and talent to do the make up for these three ladies. D'Ann is also a Cancer survivor. Sadly just a few hours before the session Krysta had to cancel, they needed to take Taylor to the ER. After a few days in the hospital she was released home.
Today all the pieces came together... D'Ann, Kassie and her mother all worked together to help this family feel special! I helped mom pick out their outfits, bringing items from my closet as well as my daughter's closet. The sunset today was beautiful and the weather was nicer then last week!! Although, Taylor was not to happy about wearing a dress... she did!.. and she looked beautiful.. ESPECIALLY with those red tenny's!
'Tis the season for giving and so many people have donated to this family by cleaning their house, giving Taylor a new bed, donating money and food, even taking Taylor's best friends shopping for gifts to surprise her and Madison. Someone even sent me a message wanting to knit Taylor a hat. It's wonderful to see how a community of friends and strangers have gathered to support the Budysz family!
I wish this family much love through this tough time and hope they can look back at those photos for many years and smile.
