Azul Beach Resort Wedding | Riviera Maya Mexico
This was my first time out of the country, what better reason to travel then a Destination Wedding! PLUS every Wisconsinite is looking for a perfectly good reason to leave the freezing temps and travel somewhere tropical!! I was definitely not ready for 80's and humidity, but the beach..pools and a couple frozen drinks helped keep David and I cool.
Our trip started by photographing the rehearsal dinner / bonfire event on the beach at sunset. The bride and groom arranged for a Mariachi Band to entertain the guest during dinner followed by a DJ and dancing after dark.
The wedding, happened to be warmest day while we were in Mexico. Sunny.. no breeze..and nearly 90s degree's. The resort was prepared by serving all the guests Mojitos when they walked into the ceremony site. This wedding also had the most amazing dancers..with LOTS.. of dance offs. The best part of the reception were the BALLOONS!!! Followed by lots of great photos.
This was truly an amazing time for two families to meet, play in the sun and spend time for a few days relaxing on the beach. David and I are thankful for this opportunity and looking forward to at least two more destination weddings and traveling in 2016, starting our season back in Riviera Maya and ending in Austin TX.
The bride wore a beautiful Venetian lace dress from Amelishan Bridal. Her belt was custom made by Amelishan Bridal, complete with vintage buttons that she stole..or 'borrowed' from her grandma's (Dad's mom) button jar 20+ years ago. The veil was the groom's Grandma's , which the bride's mother and aunt restored. The 3 string pearl necklace the top string was the bride's Grandmother's but broke years ago. So the groom's mother (Artist & Jewelry designer) bought pearls & the groom's sister hand knotted each pearl to string her this wedding necklace. The pearl bracelet is the 1st piece of jewelry the groom ever gave his bride for Christmas the 1st year dating (tiffany pearl infinity bracelet)! The florals were created by the resort along with hair and makeup. The guys wore suits from Men's Warehouse and ties from Etsy.
The Azul Beach Resort is amazing, the first floor rooms are surrounded by pools and swim up bars. There were at least 5 restaurants, 3 bars, ice cream shop, gym, spa, kids activity room and the best part... a STARBUCKS! David and I hope to travel back with the kids!
