I first met Paige and Kevin when they performed with their band Boogie and the Yoyoz at Kite Fest, which happens to be in my little town every year over Labor Day weekend. If you haven't gone to Kite Fest you would love it! Fast forward to August 20th this year I photographed their very beautiful, very personal wedding at The Hollyhock House in Kewaunee.
The day of the wedding the weather started crummy! Paige and her bridesmaids were decorating the tables under the dinner tent when a huge storm came through, they stopped what they were doing to hold the tent from flying away. What they didn't know was that storm was a tornado. The weather only cleared for the ceremony, sun and clear skies for an hour perfect for the ceremony and family photos.
Paige and Kevin LOVE to surprise each other. They also love the show How I Met Your Mother, the morning of their wedding Kevin gifted Paige with a blue french horn and the yellow umbrella came in very handy during bridal photos. Kevin had several surprises planned during their ceremony starting by asking his father to be the Best Man. Kevin also sang the song he wrote to Paige during his wedding vows and had the band play.
At the reception Paige sang a song to her father and Kevin danced with his new mother in law. At the end of the reception all of the Boogie and the Yoyoz (past and present) performed at the reception.
