I don't even have to spend time thinking of something sweet to say about Ryan and Marissa because Ryan wrote the sweetest dinner speech. This speech was my favorite memory of Ryan and Marissa's Osthoff Resort wedding. Sharing parts of this speech below...
"I would like to thank everyone for coming today. It means a lot to Marissa and I that you were able to share our special day. I also want to thank our wedding party. Marissa and I were fortunate enough to create great memories with all of you and want each of you to know that we appreciate you standing by our sides today. I would like to thank you to our parents. Mom, Dad, Curt and Julie, without your support a beautiful day like today would not be possible. You guys have been there for us since day one and have made us into the individuals we are today. We are so fortunate you each raised the person of our dreams. Now to the person of my dreams. Marissa and I were always good friends, going all the way back to our pre-school graduation picture. From then on Marissa, fit in with the boys, playing football and little league. A little fun fact is that we both wore number 15 when we won the little league championship, which I think was fate's way of telling us all the back then we were going to end up together.
When Marissa moved to Michigan, at that time I thought I was losing a good friend. It wasn't until 6th grade that I knew I had feelings for Marissa. I think it was those new pig tails she came back with. Which I was thinking, maybe can put those back in later tonight for old times' sake. Since then on, it had always been Marissa and Ryan. Except for a short week in 8th grade, when I had to win her back with my poetic expertise. As time went on, I can truly say that I gained a best friend and soul mate. People say that you always need to keep things fresh and exciting in a marriage and don't get me wrong I agree with them for the most part. But there is something to be said about feeling comfortable with someone and knowing no matter what type of day had, you can come home and always be yourself. When people ask how long I have been dating Marissa, I am proud to let them know I have been with her for 13 years or almost half of my life. I can't wait for what the future has in store for us, but one thing is for certain, I'm glad I get to go on that journey with you. "
