Green Bay WI Wedding Photography at Botanical Gardens and Rock Garden
I've had amazing luck this year for weather on wedding days. Until Ashley and David's August wedding. Rain!! I mean POURING RAIN!! ... ALL DAY!! We didn't let that mess up our plans for photos. We started the day meeting Ashley and her bridesmaids at her house. The girls ran outside for a quick photo in the robes that Ashley gave them as a gift. Her mother and maid of honor helped her get dressed in the most amazing, ultra-romantic lace over tulle and charmeuse modified A-line gown with a low V-back vintage glamour and timeless sophistication. Pearl buttons along the sipper provide the perfect accent dress from Erika's Bridal Couture in Neenah. Then I met the guys at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Manitowoc WI and waited for the ladies to arrive for the ceremony. From there we traveled to the Botanical Gardens in Green Bay WI for their photos. We found a couple areas to help cover from the rain in the Schierl Wellhouse and The Woodland Garden but decided that scheduling a next day couples session would be best. Hoping for better weather so we could walk around and photograph all over the gardens. Ashley and David's reception was at the Rock Gardens at Comfort Suites in Green Bay. The room was covered in vintage glam and antiques, most provided by Ashley and her family. Items like her great-grandma Millie’s vanity that she received on her wedding day back in 1939. On that, Ashley placed a wedding photo from her great-grandma Millie. She also placed her great-grandma Helen’s brush, comb, and mirror set. Also including her great-grandpa Clarence’s pocket watch. It was absolutely gorgeous!!! Every centerpiece on the guest tables was different; from old cameras, books, tins, and tea cups, to mirrored trays, bud vases, pearls, and doilies. Quite a few of the tea cups and items on the tables were provided by Ashley's grandma Sandy's, which she had collected throughout her life and recently passed down to Ashley. All the décor came together beautifully with the help of Sarah from Eventful Event Planning and Services.
David and Ashley are very nontraditional, so they wanted the wedding to include things that they enjoy and keep it very casual. Like an ice cream bar by Cold Stone Creamery instead of the traditional wedding cake. They also had a putting green, when guests hit a hole in one they would kiss instead of the traditional "clinking of the glass". They ended the night dancing the night away to music played by their DJ Shawn from the New Dance Machine.
When I asked Ashley and David to describe their love story they each submitted something.
From Ashley ...
"I'M THE LUCKIEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD!!! Honestly though, David is the most loving, patient, and kind person I have ever met! He makes me smiling daily with his upbeat and positive attitude. The support that he has given me through all of my medical issues is more then I could ever ask for! He's my rock, I don't know what I would do without him. He loves me unconditionally and makes me feel like the only person in the room. When he looks at me I still get butterflies! "
From David...
"Ashley is the most giving and caring person I have ever met! She always puts the thoughts and needs of those close to her before herself. She has a big heart and is always there for me! I don't know what I would do without her in my life! I love her with all of my heart!
Ashley and David's wedding will be published with Premier Bride Wisconsin in next couple of weeks! Please watch my Facebook page for a link to that post!
